About the Duck Toller
When
it comes to intelligence, athleticism and hunting instincts,
this Canadian breed ranks among the top dogs! Whether you
are looking for a hunting companion or an all-round great
family pet, you won't come closer to a perfect match than
with the friendly, eager-to-please Nova Scotia Duck Tolling
Retriever.
The Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever is a
beautiful dog with a thick, shiny and waterproof coat and
muscular body. An exceptional swimmer, this breed has webbed
toes that help it glide through the water to retriever fowl.
Retriever and decoy all in one, the Duck Toller has a bushy,
white tipped tail that lures ducks and other waterfowl to
within range. This dual purpose dog then swiftly retrieves
the felled birds for it's owner.
The Duck Toller makes a wonderful family
companion. Playful and affectionate, it's gentle nature
makes it a great choice for children. As with any sporting
breed, an active lifestyle is essential to this dog's
well-being, so couch potatoes would be better suited with a
more sedentary breed.
Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers stand
from 19 to 20 inches and weigh between 37 and 51 pounds.
They have a sturdy, muscular build and a gleaming red coat,
that ranges in shade from orange to bright red, often with
white tips to the tail, feet and chest.
