Bull Terrier History
This adorable terrier breed (made popular by “Spuds McKenzie” of Budweiser beer commercials) originated in England – a cross between the (now extinct) White English Terrier and the English Bulldog – and has since muscled his way into the hearts and homes of dog lovers everywhere.
Bull Terrier Appearance
This muscular, heavy-set breed has a short, glossy coat that comes in two variations – all white or white with markings.
Bull Terrier Temperament and Personality
Friendly and fun-loving with a feisty side, the Bull Terrier makes an exceptional family pet who loves people – especially children.
Bull Terrier Exercise Needs
Bull Terriers enjoy a moderate amount of exercise. They need their exercise in order to stay fit and healthy, so a good walk twice a day should be given.
Grooming Bull Terriers
The Bull Terrier needs minimal grooming and only moderate exercise, making it suitable for almost any sized home – city or country.
Training Bull Terriers
Bull Terrier Health Concerns
Bull Terriers are prone to food allergies and should follow a prescribed diet.
Bull Terriers (especially all white dogs) can be prone to deafness.
Is a Bull Terrier Right For Me?
Bull Terriers thrive on human attention, and do not enjoy being cooped up by themselves, preferring to keep their owners company. This is not a good breed for you if you can’t spare the time needed to keep your Bull Terrier company.
If you’re looking for a great family dog that is good with children, the Bull Terrier is a sure fit.
